Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

You'll notice that earth signs dominate this list, and for good reason. These grounded signs, including Taurus, are known for their dedication and calm demeanors, which lend to them being highly patient and tolerant. Tauruses are planners with an eye on the big picture, and once they've set something in motion, they won't allows themselves to be rushed. Their stubbornness also lends to patience. No one can make them budge once they've made a decision, and if anyone else urges them to move on or hurry up, they're only going to dig their heels in even deeper and continue the waiting game.

 

Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sep. 22)

Virgo, yet another grounded earth sign, is also incredibly patient in their own way. They tend to be perfectionistic and detail-oriented, and you don't get flawless and thoughtful results by hurrying. Virgos are patient because they can't stand making mistakes, and they'd rather put lots of time and energy into making sure every last element of their work is absolutely perfect. They're known for being critical of others, but they're their own biggest critics, which is why they'll always be patient when it comes to producing work they can be proud of.

Libra (Sep. 23 – Oct. 22)

Libra, the only air sign on this list, is a sign recognized for desire to create balance and harmony, which is key to their unique sense of patience. They're people who tend to weigh every decision carefully before making a choice, seeking the greatest fairness possible, and that takes time. They never want to rush, in fear of doing the wrong thing, which can make them indecisive at times. As much as they don't want to keep others waiting, they need to be sure before they move forward. It's also important to them to appear composed and cool, so even when they don't feel patient, they'll usually act it.

 

Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21)

Scorpio is one of two emotional water signs to make this list. They can be slightly emotionally closed off, and they take a lot of time getting to know a person before they'll consider them a friend. Their loyalty isn't a given, so they have to be really patience with people before trust is earned between them. They'd rather be cautious than open themselves up to an unknown factor and get hurt. Scorpios are also fiercely passionate and determined in what they do, and they're not easily swayed by the thoughts or opinions of others.

Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19)

The third and final earth sign of the zodiac, Capricorn, may be the most patient of them all. They're known for being the hardest working, because they care about doing things the right way. They're disciplined, knowing that slow and steady wins the race and that taking shortcuts or rushing will only cause mistake and heartache. They'd much rather take their time, preferring the dependable, risk-free approach, no matter how much more time and energy that takes.

 

Pisces (Feb. 19 – March 20)

Pisces, another of the sensitive water signs, is also very patient, but in a way that's quite unlike its watery sibling, Scorpio. Pisces tend not to be very action-oriented, instead being daydreamers who spend a lot of time waiting around and hoping about the future. While they can get flustered or restless in situations, they remain patient and resilient, optimistic about things turning out in their favor. Of course, things turn out even better for them when they can put their creative ideas into motion, but regardless, the belief that the future will be good to them tends to keep the wait tolerable.
